Packers bold prediction for final roster: Keep Christian Uphoff over Innis Gaines

The final roster prediction is the toughest one for the Packers. Unlike cornerback, the safety position has come to play throughout training camp and Green Bay would love to keep six safeties if it was practical.

Unfortunately, they’ll likely be forced to only keep five which means it comes down to Christian Uphoff and Innis Gaines. Both players have balled out and are deserving of a final roster spot. However, Uphoff has been the better special teams’ player, using his athleticism to give him the advantage here. Green Bay needs all the positive special teams’ contributors they can get, giving Uphoff the edge here.
