Packers bold prediction for final roster: Keep Jack Heflin over Tyler Lancaster

The Packers have a full-blown positional battle on their hands along the defensive line. Undrafted free agent Jack Heflin has been making noise throughout training camp and preseason and put a stamp on it with yet another performance against the Buffalo Bills. Meanwhile, Tyler Lancaster continues to lay eggs.

Heflin has established himself as a stout run defender who can eat double teams and get into the backfield to make plays. If Green Bay waives him, it’s unlikely they’d be able to slide him onto their practice squad. It’s best to keep him around as the fifth defensive lineman and let him blossom on a cheap contract.
