Packers bold prediction for final roster: Place David Bakhtiari on PUP

David Bakhtiari suffered a torn ACL at the very end of December and has yet to practice this preseason. Although he’s been doing individual work on the side of practices, it’s unlikely he returns to begin the season. After all, that would only be nine short months.

It’s more likely the Packers give Bakhtiari the utmost time to recover and place him on the Physically Unable to Perform list, meaning he’d be out for the first six weeks. That seems like a big blow but Green Bay has a lot of future money invested into Bakhtiari and they must ensure he can fulfill it. It would be a big blow, but if he returns after six weeks he’d still help Green Bay in 11 games this season.
