Let’s get a little funky and make seven bold predictions about tough decisions Green Bay will make as they set their final 53-man roster.
Here are seven bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers’ final 53-man roster which is due to be submitted to the NFL by Tuesday.
Packers bold prediction for final roster: Keep two quarterbacks
Kurt Benkert had a promising performance in the Packers’ second preseason game. With Jordan Love out due to injury, Benkert received the bulk of the snaps and showed a lot of potential. Not enough, however, to force the Packers to keep him on their final roster.
The Packers will waive him and slide him onto their practice squad–they’ll need the extra roster spot for other positions we’ll get to later. It’s highly unlikely another team claims him, as that means they’d have to keep him on their 53-man roster. Green Bay may have some competition to get him on their practice squad, but they should be able to do that in the end.
