Green Bay Packers WR: Davante Adams

Davante Adams is not only the best receiver in real life football but also in fantasy football. Simply put, Davante Adams, barring injury, is money in the bank for fantasy football purposes. Going into a contract year, there is more motivation than ever in a massive statistical year. In fact, it is completely reasonable to say that in contract years, players normally improve on their previous fantasy outputs. According to 4for4.com, wide receivers in a contract year from 2015-2020 increased their fantasy output by an average of 9.5 percent fantasy point per game.

Considering Adams led all receivers in scoring, regardless of format (PPR, Half PPR, Standard), a 9.5 percent increase in fantasy points is unlikely, but if he can produce similar numbers to his 2020 season, fantasy managers will be very pleased. The former Fresno State Bulldog projects to dominate defenses once again, and if healthy, is all but a lock for at least 13 touchdowns.

Similar to Jones, I expect Davante Adams to be nothing short of a fantasy superstar this season. With Rodgers still at the helm, expect Adams to receive double-digit targets on a weekly basis. A high target share in a powerhouse offense in Green Bay leaves no reason why Davante Adams cannot repeat as WR 1 in fantasy football.

I would feel comfortable drafting him in the back-end of the first round in drafts.

Other receivers

The Green Bay Packers, as good as their offense has been, have struggled to have a consistent fantasy option on the outside opposite of Adams. In a contract year, Marquez Valdez-Scantling could become that guy, but with Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers, and Robert Tonyan also competing for targets, it could get messy.
