Packers key position to watch in final preseason game: Interior offensive line

The offensive line is another great position to watch and includes the only starting spot up for grabs. Both left and right guard are at play in the final exhibition game and it will come down to three players: Jon Runyan Jr., Lucas Patrick and Royce Newman. Newman has been making a strong push as of late and could secure a starting spot with a third-straight strong performance. Runyan Jr. and Patrick have been underwhelming, leaving the other guard spot there for the taking. Who will step up?

Packers key position to watch in final preseason game: Last offensive line spot

While there are starting jobs up for grabs on the offensive line, there are questions about the bottom of the depth chart as well. Including how many linemen they’ll keep–9 or 10? You have to figure David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Billy Turner, Newman, Runyan, and Josh Myers are all locks for the roster. Patrick is likely to make it as well.

That leaves two to three spots to battle for and a plethora of guys doing so. Yosh Nijman, Cole Van Lanen, Ben Braden and Dennis Kelly have all made claims for the final spots, but the Packers can’t keep them all. Someone’s going to be disappointed come cut day.
