3 Packers on outside of roster heading into final preseason game
With just one final preseason game remaining, the Green Bay Packers have almost completed all of training camp. That leaves little time for players to make a strong push for the final 53-man roster.
The Packers have already cut their roster down to 80 guys on Tuesday by doing a number of shuffling. This included placing a couple of guys on the injured reserve, waiving others, and even signing a couple of new names.
They have until Tuesday, August 31 to trim their roster to 53 players. Unfortunately for these three guys, they’re on the outside looking in heading into the last exhibition game against the Buffalo Bills.
These three Green Bay Packers have some work to do heading into the team’s final preseason contest against the Buffalo Bills.
Packers on outside of roster heading into final preseason game: 3. Isaac Yiadom
Green Bay acquired cornerback Isaac Yiadom from the New York Giants in exchange for Josh Jackson just a couple of weeks ago. Yiadom was a third-round pick in 2018 with the Denver Broncos, but hasn’t been able to make an impact and is now on his third team.
Barring a strong showing against the Bills, it’s unlikely he makes the final roster. Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, Kevin King, Shemar Jean-Charles, and Chandon Sullivan are all probably locks. That makes up five players at the position already. If Green Bay decides to keep a sixth, Kabian Ento has the edge at this point. It will take a lot for Yiadom to make the final roster.
