Packers’ roster tiers: Locks, bubble, outside looking in, long shots
Outside Looking In (11)
Kurt Benkert, Patrick Taylor, Juwann Winfree, Equanimous St. Brown, Reggie Begelton, Jack Heflin, Willington Previlon, Delontae Scott, Ka’Dar Hollman, Innis Gaines, Christian Uphoff
Barring a huge week of practice and monstrous final preseason game, these guys are probably not going to make the roster but will be prime practice squad candidates.
Benkert had an impressive performance starting in place of Jordan Love against the New York Jets. Unfortunately for Green Bay, he probably made it much more difficult for them to sneak him onto the practice squad as a result.
Heflin and Previlon made strong pushes on the defensive line, but it will be hard to unseat Lowry or Lancaster. However, if the Packers want to go a cheaper and younger route they could sneak one of the former two onto the roster.
The secondary is also very hard to predict. Hollman is probably one of the harder cuts the Packers will have to make. Gaines and Uphoff both impressed in the preseason game, but it will be very difficult for them to beat out one or two of Black, Redmond or Scott.
