5 Packers that fans hope will prove them wrong

2. Preston Smith

Preston Smith was one of the four big free agent signings the Packers made in 2019 and is clearly the most disappointing so far.

He had a good 2019 campaign, racking up 12 sacks, 11 hurries, 34 pressures and nine quarterback knockdowns. However, he took a big step backward in 2020 when he only had four sacks, five hurries, 16 pressures and six knockdowns. Yikes!

The good news is he’s reportedly lost a lot of weight and looks slimmer for his comeback. This should help his burst off the line of scrimmage, something he relies upon more than any other move. He’s been impressive against the New York Jets in their combined practice this week and we hope that carries over into the regular season.
