Dating back to Ted Thompson’s tenure, the Green Bay Packers have long taken the approach of a draft and develop team. Although current general manager Brian Gutekunst has been much more aggressive in free agency, he’s tried to hold true to that sentiment.

That approach has ensured Green Bay keeps a lot of their talent on second and even third contracts. However, there are always the guys who slip Green Bay misevaluated or weren’t able or didn’t want to retain. Of the players who have left through the years, the Packers–whether it be their front office or the players–are sure to want revenge (on the football field) on these three players whether it be related to comments they made or decisions that need to be proven right.

The Green Bay Packers would love to get revenge on the football field on these three players who used to suit up for the team.

3. Taysom Hill

Taysom Hill played for the Packers for a hot minute during the 2017 preseason and was eventually signed off their practice squad by the New Orleans Saints in September of 2017. Nearly three years later he signed a two-year, $20 million deal to stay with the Saints.

The Packers weren’t able to recognize Hill’s diverse skillset and tried (and failed) to play him as a traditional quarterback. Sean Payton has since unlocked that versatility and Hill has played all over the field including at quarterback, receiver, in the backfield and even on the punt team.

The Packers play the Saints in Week 1 this season and Hill should have a prominent role. Especially with the injury to Michael Thomas. Although this is a different coaching staff and front office for Green Bay, the fans still want it proven that the team didn’t make the wrong decision.
