The Green Bay Packers had their first padded practice of the season on Tuesday and have three straight such practices over the weekend. That will continue to give us a lot more information about which players will be ready to contribute at a major level this season.

However, the beat writers have done a tremendous job tweeting live updates to give us normies a great understanding of how the practices are going. Based on that information, here are three Packers (or groups) that have seen their stock trend upward to begin training camp.

With a full week of practices under the Green Bay Packers’ belt, here’s who is trending up at the beginning of training camp.

3. Offensive line

Aaron Rodgers has experienced the best offensive line of his career over the last couple of seasons and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change anytime soon. Despite losing Bryan Bulaga and Corey Linsley in free agency the last two years and David Bakhtiari needing more time to recover from his torn ACL, the big guys up front have been impressive to begin camp.

Elgton Jenkins has been the standout and looks set to start at left tackle until Bakhtiari returns. It’s unclear when that will happen, but wherever Jenkins is he’s going to dominate. Rookie Josh Myers also looks ready to contribute immediately in a big, big way. He’s taken over the center position without missing a beat. They also signed Dennis Kelly, a swing tackle, to provide great depth as well. Look for them to keep the pocket clean for Mr. Rodgers and co. once again in 2021.

2. Juwan Winfree

It will be hard for Juwan Winfree to make the roster, but he’s sure as heck off to a great start. With five wide receivers already locked into place–Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Randal Cobb, Amari Rodgers, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling–Winfree is battling a bunch of other players for the final spot. And that’s if the Packers decide to keep six at the position. So far, Winfree has separated himself both from the pack and from the other receivers. He continues to wiggle his way open and has been catching everything. We’ll see how these padded practices and preseason go for this undersized receiver.

1. Defensive playmakers

The Packers obviously feel they have the defensive talent to compete for a Super Bowl, as their only major move on that side of the ball was to fire Mike Pettine and hire new defensive coordinator Joe Barry. So far, it appears Barry’s big adjustment has been letting his stars play more freely. That’s great news considering the Packers have plenty of playmakers–Jaire Alexander, Darnell Savage, Adrian Amos, Za’Darius Smith, and Kenny Clark (to name a few)–on defense. Let’s see how this free-styling defense works for Green Bay.
