2. Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers might be an easier trade partner for the Brewers because they are both out of the NL Central and the NL altogether. The guys on their trade list include Joey Gallo and Ian Kennedy.

Gallo, a two-time All-Star and former Gold Glove winner, could either play the outfield (where he plays most often) or slide in at first base if Milwaukee acquires him. Keston Hiura is in another extended slump and his chances of staying in the MLB for the rest of the season are slim to none. Gallo strikes out a ton, but he also draws a bunch of walks and has some pop in his bat.

Kennedy would be another bullpen arm to keep your eye on. He’s successfully made the transition from starter to bullpen arm after beginning this process two years ago. In 31.1 innings this year, he’s posted a 2.59 ERA. He could be a cheaper player for the Brewers to acquire that would help the backend of their pen.
