2. Bucks agree to contract extension with Donte DiVincenzo in October

Donte DiVincenzo is entering the final year of his rookie deal (he’ll get paid about $4.7 million in 2021-22) and is in line for a big raise beginning next year. Hopefully, that next contract comes with the Bucks.

DiVincenzo improved across the board in this third NBA season. Moving into the lineup as a full-time starter, he posted career-highs in minutes per game (27.5), three-point percentage (37.9), rebounds per 36 minutes (7.5), and assists per 36 minutes (4). He also impacted the game on the defensive end as a versatile defender who excels off-ball.

He’s eligible for a contract extension any time before the start of the regular season which gives the Bucks plenty of time. Milwaukee will likely work out a new deal with their starting two-guard worth somewhere around $8-10 million per season. But don’t expect it to come until right before the season begins as they monitor his recovery from the tendon injury he suffered in his foot.
