No matter what the media or analysts think about the Milwaukee Brewers, they keep finding ways to win. It may not always be pretty, but the victories keep stacking up for the National League Central’s top team. Still, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t look to acquire more talent before the upcoming trade deadline.

MLB’s trade deadline is coming up quickly–Friday, July 30th–and we’ve already seen a few trades across the league including Milwaukee acquiring first baseman Rowdy Tellez. Still, with the Brewers sitting 15 games above .500 heading into Saturday’s contest against the Cincinnati Reds and holding a five-game divisional lead over them, they should still look to get better. After all, they only have the third-best record in the National League.

If the Brewers want to swing for the fence at this year’s trade deadline (pun emphatically intended!), here are four guys they should target in a deal.

With the 2021 MLB trade deadline fast approaching, the Milwaukee Brewers would love to acquire any of these four trade targets.

4. Joey Gallo, outfielder, Texas Rangers

Joey Gallo might not be the best solution to Milwaukee’s offensive woes, but he would provide them with a hot bat who’s having a career year in terms of getting on base. Gallo’s never had a high batting percentage, and he’s only hitting .237 this year (the second-highest of his career), however, he’s getting on base nearly 40 percent of the time (a career-high).  Furthermore, he’s also slugged 24 home runs and has racked up 52 RBIs so far this year.

Milwaukee could use another bat in the outfield who can not only get on base, but who can also drive in runs. They’ve failed to back up their excellent pitching too many times and any upgrade over the likes of Jackie Bradley Jr or Tyron Taylor would be welcomed.
