Green Bay Packers Tier 3 – Dexter Williams, Ka’dar Hollman, Ty Summers

Dexter Williams was brought in as a sixth-round pick to be the third back behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams, who were day three picks themselves just two years prior. Things haven’t quite worked out as well for Dexter as they did for his predecessors. He spent almost all of 2020 on the practice squad, only playing in three games. Altogether, he’s run the ball seven times for nineteen yards in very limited regular-season action. With Jamaal Williams gone, he’ll have the opportunity once again this season to grab the RB3 spot.

Ka’dar Hollman has struggled to convince the coaching staff that he’s worthy of much playing time. In week nine of 2020, he started at cornerback against the Jaguars and performed pretty well, but the next week he was back on the shelf, inactive. He also didn’t suit up for either of the Packers’ playoff games. With Green Bay bringing in two more corners in the draft this season, he’ll be hard-pressed to find space on the roster.

Like Hollman, Ty Summers has had exactly one NFL start. Other than that, he’s been a core special teams player who continues to grind for his spot on the roster by excelling in that area. When he did play on defense, he often looked overmatched by blocks and not fast enough to chase running backs to the edge. He has some time, but maybe not much with up-and-coming linebackers like Isaiah McDuffie hunting roster spots as well.
