Green Bay Packers Tier 2 – Jace Sternberger and Kingsley Keke
In his rookie season, Jace Sternberger was on the IR until November. Even after coming back, he didn’t play much in the regular season. He did manage to catch a touchdown in the playoff loss to the 49ers, though. With the emergence of Robert Tonyan in 2020 and the blocking prowess of Marcedes Lewis, Sternberger was pushed to the side and played just 19 percent of offensive snaps. This season, with Josiah Deguara coming back from his torn ACL, the tight end room is even more crowded, and with his two-game suspension looming, he could be an easy-cut candidate.
Kingsley Keke came on strong in year two after a pretty uneventful rookie season. Due to the failings of the Green Bay Packers’ run defense, especially the guys in the trenches, fans were clamoring for more Keke snaps, and they got them. He started nine games and had four sacks along with three tackles for loss. He could very easily be a full-time starter this season, and he’s shown some impressive pass rush moves from the interior, along with the ability to hold his own in the run game. He’ll probably never see a Pro Bowl, but this fifth-round pick is well on his way to being an NFL starter for a long time.
