The Green Bay Packers have gotten oh so close to the Super Bowl in back-to-back years, yet are still so far away. They certainly have the talent to win it all, they just need a couple more players to step up.

Green Bay has received contributions from their big-time players, but hasn’t gotten the timely ones from role players at key positions. The following five guys on this list have the talent to take it up a notch for an entire season and the Packers may need them to do so if they want to replicate the success they’ve had in consecutive seasons.

The Green Bay Packers need these five guys to step up their game if they want to get past the NFC Championship game next season.

Packers who need to step up 5: Lucas Patrick

David Bakhtiari’s status is unclear which likely means Elgton Jenkins will slide over to left tackle to begin the season and create a massive hole at guard. Lucas Patrick will be battling it out for one of the starting guard spots and the Packers would love to see the veteran take his game to the next level.

In his first full season as a starter in 2020, Patrick held up as a starting guard. He wasn’t flashy, but he was solid–ranking 24th out of 80 guards ranked by PFF. However, Green Bay will need more if he’s going to win the starting guard spot again and if they want to maintain their elite offensive production. Corey Linsley is gone and Jenkins might move to the outside to begin the season. Someone on the inside needs to take control and create running lanes. Patrick will have every opportunity to be that guy.
