Reason #3 why Bucks can win NBA Finals: Paint scoring

This will be the ultimate battle to watch in this matchup. The Bucks have lived in the paint since Budenholzer’s arrival three years ago and love to get there whenever they can. Obviously, Antetokounmpo drove a lot of that scoring with his creation off the bounce and gravity as a roll-man, but Milwaukee has others who can do it as well.

The Suns will likely cut off the paint at all costs and force Milwaukee to shoot from the outside–something they’ve been terrible at all postseason long. After making 38.9 percent of their threes in the regular season (tied for fourth-best), they’ve only made 31.1 percent in the postseason (third-worst). The Suns know this and will try their darndest for it to continue for another round.

Jrue Holiday could be the one to watch in this category. Phoenix will have to try to figure out who can guard him, as I think he’s a bit too much for Chris Paul at this stage in their respective careers. With Paul likely hiding on P.J. Tucker in the corner, I bet Phoenix will go with one of their bigger wings on Holiday. If Holiday can continue to get into the paint and create shots for himself and others, the Bucks will find themselves with their fair share of easy buckets close to the basket.
