Reason #4 why Bucks can win NBA Finals: Transition offense

After securing the defensive rebound, Milwaukee likes to push at every opportunity. No really, I mean every opportunity.

The Bucks pushed the ball on one-third of all live rebounds this season–ranking second in the NBA according to Cleaning the Glass. They often had a guy leak out behind the defense and consistently looked to throw it ahead. It’s one of their favorite plays to have Antetokounmpo post up his guy after leaking out and the ball-handler lofting the pass up high where only his man can get it.

Although the Suns have been better in the playoffs, they were one of the worst transition teams off live-ball rebounds in the regular season; they ranked 27th in points per transition play allowed. Milwaukee continued to push the ball without Antetokounmpo in the lineup (even if they didn’t do it successfully) and will look to do so again against the Suns. If they can rack up easy buckets it will go a long way to help an offense that could stall without its best player.
