The Green Bay Packers have been forced to work their salary cap magic all offseason thanks to the world events over the last 15 or so months. They might have to do it again if they want to come to terms on a contract extension with any of their players.

We are officially in contract extension season–the time between minicamp and training camp–so keep your eyes peeled for any new deals Green Bay agrees to. There have already been reports the Packers and Davante Adams have begun talks on a contract extension and there are a plethora of other players Green Bay could be interested in extending.

Most of the guys on this list would cost the team additional money this year, which makes any deal unlikely. Regardless, let’s dive into seven Packers who could receive contract extensions before the start of training camp.

These seven players on the Green Bay Packers could agree to contract extensions before the start of training camp later this summer.

Packers who could receive contract extension 7: Billy Turner

Billy Turner came to Green Bay via free agency in 2019 and signed a four-year, $28 million deal with the team. He’s proven to be worth that contract, as he’s bounced around between left tackle, right guard, and right tackle with Green Bay preferring to play him at the latter position whenever possible.

Although his cap hit is fairly low this season ($4.8 million) it basically doubles for 2022. Green Bay could approach him about an extension to add a year or two to his deal with the added benefit of lowering next year’s cap number when money will be even tighter.
