Packers with brightest future 4: Eric Stokes

Although Eric Stokes hasn’t played a snap after being selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, there are plenty of reasons for optimism. Stokes, who sports a similar style and body size to Kevin King, has all the tools to succeed as a press-man cover corner in this league. He’s strong and fast enough to stick with anyone–he just needs to improve his technique and discipline.

It’s unclear how much playing time he’ll receive in his rookie season thanks to King being on the roster ahead of him. Stokes also doesn’t appear to have the traits necessary to play in the slot so it might be another year until we see any meaningful time for him (barring the inevitable King soft-tissue injury).
