Packers with brightest future 5: A.J. Dillon

A.J. Dillon got a promotion this offseason when he went from the Packers’ no. 3 running back to their no. 2. LaFleur has been hesitant to employ Aaron Jones as a full-time back given his injury history and short stature which means Dillon will be in for a large workload in 2021.

Dillon is a big bruising back who can punish smaller defenders. He’s also nimble enough to squirt through small openings on the offensive line and get to the next level. It will be fun to see what he can do with more carries considering the flashes he showed in his rookie year (he ran for 124 yards on 21 carries in Week 15). He just turned 23-years-old and is entering his running back prime in the years ahead.
