Green Bay Packers‘ general manager Brian Gutekunst worked hard this offseason to restructure contracts and get his team under the salary cap threshold. This includes, but not limited to, restructuring the contracts of David Bakhtiari, Adrian Amos, and Billy Turner and cutting guys like Christian Kirksey and Rick Wagner.

Gutekunst made other moves that pushed the money they owed back to 2022 and beyond. Although it helped them tremendously this season, the bill will still come due in the very near future.

The Packers have a number of other money moves left to make. They should be trying to rework a new deal with Aaron Rodgers to help their future cap numbers and help smooth things over with their disgruntled MVP quarterback. They can also sign Davante Adams to a brand new contract, as he’s one of a plethora of players entering the final year of his contract. Let’s take a look at Adams and the other important players who are entering the last year of their deal in 2021.

The Green Bay Packers will have a number of difficult financial decisions to make following the 2021 season, including choices about these nine players.

Important Packers entering final year of contract: J.K. Scott

J.K. Scott has been an enigma since Green Bay drafted him. He has all the tools to become an excellent punter including a booming leg. However, he seemingly struggles as the weather turns which is obviously a major issue in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  He’ll make less than $1 million this season and will definitely want a pay increase moving forward. Green Bay will use 2021 as one final year to evaluate whether to bring him back or move in a different direction.

Important Packers entering final year of contract: Hunter Bradley

Hunter Bradley is on different terms than Scott, as he has yet to prove he belongs in the NFL. Green Bay brought in competition for Bradley so he might not even make it to the final year of his deal. Bradley may not be as important as the other guys on this list, but he can tank their special teams’ units in a hurry if his snaps aren’t on point.
