Kevin King or Eric Stokes

Basically, what the hope is here is that either Kevin King or Eric Stokes provides the team with a reliable CB2 option next to Jaire Alexander. As we saw last season, with Alexander locking down whoever he is lined up across from, quarterbacks often times aren’t even looking his direction–meaning, the other boundary corner is going to be targeted fairly frequently.

While most are going to remember King for his NFC Championship blunder, it’s not as if that’s what his entire career has been in Green Bay. He’s made plenty of big plays as well; however, the issues are injuries and the overall lack of consistency–at times, we have no clue what to expect from him.

Meanwhile, with Stokes, while he is certainly a promising young prospect with electric speed, like any rookie, he has areas of his game to improve upon. Some of which includes adjusting to life at the NFL level, being less handsy, playing with more balance, and transitioning from a primary man coverage scheme at Georgia to zone under Joe Barry.

Just like with Barnes and Martin, it would be great to see King regain some of that 2019 form and for Stokes to find his footing at the NFL level relatively quickly, but even if one of them can provide the Packers with some reliable consistency, that coupled with Alexander is going to make a huge difference for this defense.
