Packers’ veteran who might not make the roster 1. Jace Sternberger

This one might come as a surprise considering how high Green Bay was on Jace Sternberger just a season ago. However, things have changed mightily since then.

Sternberger wasn’t active down the stretch of 2020 including for the playoff games. He was instead replaced by undrafted free agent Dominique Dafney–a run-blocking specialist.

Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis are locks to make the roster, as is 2020 third-round pick Josiah Deguara who will be returning from a major injury. Will Dafney continue his strong push and earn a spot on the depth chart ahead of Sternberger? If so, will Green Bay want to keep five tight ends? Those are the tough questions they must ask themselves when deciding to cut Sternberger.
