This series wasn’t like last year. Not even close. The Milwaukee Bucks brought out the brooms on Saturday afternoon with a 120-103 game 4 victory over the Miami Heat to complete the Eastern Conference first-round sweep.

It might look like the Heat could actually take a game from the Bucks, leading 64-57 at halftime. And then Milwaukee exited the locker room and put the hammer down with a 34-21 third quarter and never looked back.

Giannis Antetokounmpo tallied the third triple-double in the franchise’s playoff history with 20 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds. Brook Lopez, who controlled the series in the paint, had 25 points and eight rebounds. Khris Middleton recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Bryn Forbes caught fire again with seven 3-pointers to ended with 22 points. Bobby Portis and Jrue Holiday each scored in double-figures.

Getting the theme here? Balance, depth, and the ability to compete on both ends of the court propelled Milwaukee to the sweep.

The Milwaukee Bucks are surely happy with the sweep, but Antetokounmpo knows there is more work to be done.

The offense was on full display for the Milwaukee Bucks in the series, but the defense was even more impressive at times. They held Jimmy Butler to 12, 19, 10, and 17 points in the series on a combined 29.7 percent shooting.

Milwaukee will receive a week off to rest and recover from their sweep before playing either Brooklyn or Boston next weekend, June 5.

Forbes said that because the Heat were locked in on Giannis, it gave him and others opportunities to score.

It was a tale of two halves, with Milwaukee shooting 40.4 percent through 24 minutes of basketball and Miami making 52.2 percent of its shots.

The second half was the opposite, with the Bucks sinking 53.2 percent and the Heat making just 35.6 percent of their field goals. Milwaukee again dominated on the glass, outrebounding Miami 56-40, including 15 offensive rebounds that were converted into 23 second-chance points.

NOTES: Pat Connaughton started in place of Donte DiVincenzo who injured a tendon in his left foot. Milwaukee went 6-1 against the Heat this season and was 6-13 in the previous four seasons.
