Regular Season Matchups

Milwaukee took the season series, winning two of the three games against Miami. The first two matchups were in late December, the fourth and fifth games of the season, so it’s hard to gauge things from four-plus months ago.

The Bucks won 144-97 in Miami on December 29th before losing the following night 119-108. The initial contest saw Milwaukee blow the game wide open with 46 points in the first quarter and own a 32-point halftime lead. Holiday scored 24, going 6-for-10 from downtown.

Despite an Antetokounmpo triple-double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists), the Heat got even the following night of the back-to-back.

The true eye test occurred on Saturday, with Milwaukee winning 122-108 inside the Fiserv Forum. All five Bucks starters scored in double figures, and another first-quarter outburst of 44 points helped in the victory. Miami drained 22 triples in the loss.

"“It’s more about being consistent going into the playoffs, no matter the opponent or who we’re playing,” Holiday said via ESPN. “It’s about being consistent and being in a good groove. I think at this point in the season we’ve done a pretty good job of really just coming out every game and trying to prepare like every game’s a playoff game.”"

Miami didn’t have Jimmy Butler due to lower back tightness on Saturday, and he didn’t play in any of the three games against Milwaukee this season.

Milwaukee is now 3-2 against Miami since Jimmy Butler arrived before the 2019-20 season. Twelve of the 16 ESPN experts predict Milwaukee will win the series, and only four said in six games.
