Green Bay Packers star wideout Davante Adams is said to be the best wide receiver in the NFL by many experts, and Pro Football Focus agrees. PFF pegged him as the top receiver in the game during its 2021 rankings.

The Green Bay Packers clear No. 1 target was the highest-graded (92.2), most valuable (0.9 WAR), and most productive (2.96 yards per route run) wide receiver of the 2020 season, according to PPF.

Adams was unstoppable at times and led the NFL in touchdown receptions with 18 last season, to go along with 115 receptions and 1,374 yards last year. What is more impressive is his ability to be open in the red zone. Since 2016 he has hauled in 43 touchdown passes, second only to Chris Carter (46 from 1995-99) during a four-year period.

DeAndre Hopkins was picked second on the PPF 2021 wide receiver list, and there wouldn’t have been much debate nationally if he was the top guy. There will be no complaints in Packer nation, however, with Adams being the No. 1 choice.

The All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler has been the first option for Aaron Rodgers over the years. Given the weapons Green Bay has on offense, his numbers could increase.

The biggest question entering the 2021 Green Bay Packers season is who will be throwing TDs to Adams. Will it be Rodgers, Jordan Love, or Blake Bortles?

One thing is for sure, Adams and Rodgers have a connection that is rivaled across the NFL. In a recent interview on Fox Sports’ The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Adams stated his future “potentially” could be impacted by what happens with Rodgers.

Cowherd asked him, “…if Aaron moved on, you have such an incredible working relationship with him, would it affect your future in Green Bay?”

Adams answered:

"“Potentially. Potentially. That’s my guy, that’s the only guy that I’ve had. Other than that 2017 season, when he got hurt, it’s the only guy that I’ve played with. We built up a special connection over the years that’s put us both in really good positions in our career. Not that he needed me to come along for it, cause he was already in that spot.”“But we established a lot together. It would change a lot, man. It doesn’t mean potentially I’d be gone, but I’d definitely have to do some extra thinking if my guy wasn’t here.”"

No matter who is throwing the ball to Adams this season, he is clearly the top target in Green Bay and could put up huge numbers again.
