Kevin King

In a similar ilk to Preston Smith, what the heck can we expect from Kevin King this season? I know the lasting image that many Green Bay Packers fans have is King getting beat deep by Scotty Miller in the NFC Championship Game, but it’s not as if that’s what his entire career has been like either. King has had success here in Green Bay; the issue lies with his consistency.

Oftentimes from game to game or sometimes even play to play, we don’t know if we are going to see a “B+” performance from King or an “F.” That kind of variance makes it quite difficult on the coaching staff since they have no idea what player to gameplan around. Then there is the injury history; out of a possible 64 regular-season games, King has appeared in 41 of them and has missed at least five games in three of his first four seasons.

Lastly, King will be battling for playing time with rookie Eric Stokes. Does King push the rookie? Or does the CB2 role become Stokes sooner than later? Again, all of these unknowns are what makes King such an intriguing player heading into 2021.
