Quarterbacks (2)

Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love

Despite all the drama surrounding Aaron Rodgers, this position group is fairly straightforward as long as the reigning MVP returns for the Packers. If he’s back, there’s no need to waste a valuable roster spot on a third quarterback. However, it gets a lot more difficult to figure out if he holds out deep into the preseason.

It will be interesting to see Love once practices begin. There’s the obvious question about how he’ll handle the off-the-field issues that seem to stem from his selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. But there’s still the question about whether he can actually play NFL quarterback or not. He wasn’t able to beat out Tim Boyle a year ago so his development will be key.

The Packers also recently signed Blake Bortles and Kurt Benkert to give them some more bodies in training camp. If anything happens with Rodgers, Bortles would likely earn a spot on the roster. Let’s hope there’s no need for anyone besides Rodgers and Love.
