Packers second-round pick: The grade

At the end of the day, the Packers drafted a player with a really good chance of not only playing, but starting Week 1. That’s something that couldn’t have been said a year ago. They are ahead on that alone.

It would’ve been a cool story to see Green Bay nab Meinerz, but obviously, they thought Myers was a superior player. He started 21 games at Ohio State and brings toughness and a high level of football intelligence to the field. He should be able to win mentally almost every week.

It’s the physical traits that need to be answered. He’s not an elite athlete for the position and will have to show he can improve his balance. He also needs a lot of development in his pass protection skills, as his specialty is in the run game. It may not jump off the page, but it’s nice to see Green Bay continue to address their offensive line.

Grade: B-
