Packers first-round pick: The Grade

To be clear, there is a lot to like about Stokes’ game. If it was any other round it would probably receive much higher marks. However, it’s impossible to ignore the consensus question marks this selection made from analysts across three major sites.

What drives it down, even more, is the amount of talent that was still on the board when the Packers made this pick. They could’ve added a unique offensive weapon in Moore, beefed up their defensive line with Barmore, or added help upfront with Jenkins. Instead, they went with a guy who likely would’ve been there if they traded back into the early to mid-second round (or even later).

Although draft day grades often turn out to be inaccurate years down the road, it’s a tough way for the Packers to end a stressful day. It also doesn’t do anything to hush whispers about the front office’s inadequacies.
