Packers Final 7 Round 2021 NFL Mock Draft: Finding Immediate Help
By Paul Bretl
(TRADE) Pick 136: Walker Little, OT, Stanford
Packers give up: Picks 142 and 220
Ravens give up: Pick 136
Little is someone that I had my sights on as a possible fourth-round target if I was unable to land an offensive tackle earlier. With options running low, I didn’t trust that he was going to make it to pick 142, so I moved up a few spots to grab him.
Little had a solid 2018 season but would miss most of 2019 due to injury, and he opted out of 2020. So when Week 1 rolls around, it will have been about three years since he played in an actual game—which comes with some level of risk. Although I still believe there is an outside shot that he could start Week 1, the upside is there, but chances are he is a backup–and that is fine; that’s a huge need as well, given how thin the Packers are at the position. But expectations are that he would move into a larger role in 2022.
Pick 173: Bobby Brown III, IDL, Texas A&M
I really like this pick. In the Joe Barry defense, Kenny Clark is the only player on the roster currently who is truly suited to play the nose tackle role. However, the addition of Brown allows them more flexibility to move Clark around, lining him up at 4-tech, where he could be even more impactful. Brown was primarily a run-defender in college but put up decent pass-rush numbers in 2020 with 16 pressures and five sacks, according to PFF ($$).
