Packers fifth round (173rd overall): Shakur Brown, CB, Michigan State

We go back to the defensive side of the ball in the fifth and add some desperately needed depth in the secondary. Shakur Brown is on the smaller side for cornerbacks which will impact his ability to slide outside in the near future. Still, he could earn time as a nickel or dime corner right away if he can practice more disciplined football. He’d also bring more swagger and physicality to the defensive side of the ball.

Packers fifth round (178th overall): Shawn Davis, DB, Florida

Shawn Davis could eventually share the field with Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage at the safety position. He’s extremely rangy and has experience covering wide receivers in the slot. His football I.Q. is also a positive. His positional versatility will allow the Packers to move him all over the secondary and help get him on the field right away.
