Packers’ step for perfect 2021 NFL Draft: Add wide receiver depth at some point

Next up on their list of positions to tackle is wide receiver. The Packers are suddenly solid at this position despite lots of angst last offseason over their failure to add someone of significance. Davante Adams is the clear lead dog and the best receiver in the NFL. After him, Green Bay has a number of interesting players in Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimous St. Brown and Devin Funchess.

Those guys were enough to allow the Packers’ offense to be one of the best in the league and for Aaron Rodgers to win another MVP award. However, none of them are under contract past 2021 and Green Bay won’t be able to bring all (or many) of them back considering their cap situation. That’s why they should add at least one receiver in the middle or later rounds. However, if the right guy is there early on, they shouldn’t be afraid to pull the trigger.
