Packers’ step for perfect 2021 NFL Draft: Add a cornerback early

Perhaps, the only position other than defensive line that Green Bay has a bigger need at is cornerback. They are set on the outside for 2021 with Jaire Alexander locking down one side and Kevin King inconsistently manning the other. However, there are serious question marks about King and he only signed a one-year deal which means there will be even more questions at the position in 2022 and beyond.

Depending on how the draft falls, there could be a number of talented cornerbacks available at the end of the first. These guys include Asante Samuel Jr., Greg Newsome and Caleb Farley. However, if the right player isn’t there in the first, Green Bay shouldn’t panic. They can simply wait a bit longer. But beware, they need to make sure they get a corner by the end of Day 2–both for this year’s sake and the long-term future.
