Ranking Packers realistic draft targets: Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

This would be a homerun selection if Greg Newsome II falls to the Packers at 29 as Mel Kiper predicts. Newsome is thought to be a trade-up target if Green Bay wants to move into the low 20s so grabbing him here would be stellar.

Newsome took his game to another level in 2020 and put some amazing play on tape. He has good size for the position, but does need to add some muscle to avoid getting pushed around by more physical receivers. However, he makes up for that right now by using his quick feet to stick with wide receivers in and out of their breaks. He also has a plethora of experience playing zone–something Green Bay will likely play a lot of in 2021. If the Packers stick at no. 29, keep their draft capital AND grab Newsome–consider me a big fan of Day 1.
