Ranking Packers realistic draft targets: Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State

Asante Samuel Jr. would be an electric selection for Green Bay and somebody who reminds analysts a lot of Jaire Alexander. At 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds, what Samuel Jr. lacks in size he makes up for in confidence and energy. It’s contagious on the field and he wants to embarrass his man on every play.

The Packers have major issues at cornerback opposite Alexander. Kevin King is back for one year, but they need a long-term replacement on the outside. Samuel Jr. could play in the slot right away and then potentially transition to the outside in 2022 when King likely moves on from the green and gold.
