Top 5 buyout candidates for Bucks: Austin Rivers, wing

Austin Rivers is by far the biggest name on this list and someone Bucks’ fans have been wanting even before he was bought out. Rivers was previously linked to the Bucks after being waived, but hasn’t signed with any team yet–something that’s certainly odd.

At 6-foot-4, Rivers has spent most of his time this season on the wing, but is capable of being a combo guard and sharing some of the ball-handling duties as well. That’s important for the Bucks, as what they lack in a true point, they make up with a plethora of ball-handlers (Holiday, DiVincenzo, Teague, Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo).

Rivers also has a strong veteran I.Q. on the court and is hungry for a championship. He’s a bit too shot-heavy for my liking, but he could tone that down on a Milwaukee squad that needs more steady play on the defensive end than anything else. This is the best it gets for the Bucks this buyout season.
