Packers: 5 wide receivers to target in first round of 2021 NFL Draft
2. Elijah Moore, Ole Miss
This portion of the draft is littered with gadget wide receivers who can be versatile in where they line up, but need to be schemed open (at least at this point in their careers). Elijah Moore is another player in that category.
At 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, he’s a prototypical slot receiver. His elite combination of speed and quickness allows him to get in and out of his cuts quickly and makes it nearly impossible for corners to keep up with him. He also has very solid hands and drops aren’t an issue with him.
The good news and bad news with Moore is a lot of his catches were because of the scheme and came over the middle. That can make it difficult to justify with your top pick, however, LaFleur is one of the best in the game at doing just that. Green Bay will have to decide if they want to risk using their top selection on a guy who might not be able to win matchups consistently on his own.
