Pooka Williams – Kansas

Of the three guys on this list, Pooka Williams is probably the most complete prospect as a running back. In both of his full seasons at Kansas, he ran for over 1000 yards before having injury issues and eventually opting out of the 2020 season.

In the same vein as Hawkins, he would give this Green Bay Packers’ offense an extra dimension with his speed. He also brings experience in that exact same role as the Jayhawks sometimes lined him up in the slot, ran him on jet sweeps, and used him on designed swing passes and screens.

Aside from just being a gadget guy, he has experience catching passes and made 66 catches in college for 534 yards. Having this extra ability in the passing game could get him on the field earlier in third-down situations.

As a runner, he also has experience in zone schemes and is a very patient runner who will wait for something to open up to make his move. Once he does go, though, there’s almost no catching him as his speed is about on par with Hawkins, even though I’d give a slight edge to Hawkins. Williams is a little stronger and has a stiff arm that he utilizes, along with a nasty juke. His lateral movement is top of the line, and he uses it to elude defenders and make cuts that seem impossible.

Hawkins may be the more exciting prospect, but in terms of team need for just what the Packers need to spark their offense to another level, Williams may be the best fit with his pass-catching and experience in that gadget role.
