Packers round 3 (92nd overall): Ben Cleveland, G, Georgia

It may seem odd to draft two interior linemen this high in the draft, but these were the two best players available when the Packers were on the clock. Upfront, Green Bay is still waiting to see how David Bakhtiari recovers from a torn ACL and won’t know until the season is extremely close. Elgton Jenkins can move all around the line, as can Billy Turner. Otherwise, there are no other proven players on the roster.

Ben Cleveland would provide Green Bay with another legitimate option on the interior, allowing them to move both Jenkins and Turner to the outside if they need. Otherwise, Cleveland can develop for a year and provide the Packers with a cheaper alternative next season if they want to move on from Turner. It’s a win-win for a team that desperately needs to keep Aaron Rodgers upright.
