Packers: 3 cornerbacks to target in first round of 2021 NFL Draft
2. Eric Stokes
Eric Stokes is a very real possibility for the Packers at pick no. 29. He’s got better size than Samuel, as he stands 6-foot-1 and 194 pounds which is attractive to general manager Brian Gutekunst and the front office. He’s also a better athlete who is much smoother covering wide receivers and has better speed and quickness as well.
Speaking of his speed and agility, he can either play on the outside or in the slot. That means he can get on the field right away and share the field with both King and Alexander. Then, when King likely leaves in free agency next season, he can slide over and take the other outside starting spot.
He has some work to do on his tackling, as his lack of strength often leads him to missed opportunities. He’s also still learning the game and there will be a bit of a developmental period for him. However, if he can learn from his teammates and coaching staff, he’d be a nice pickup in the first round.
