Under general manager Brian Gutekunst, the Green Bay Packers haven’t been strangers when it comes to making draft day trades. Especially near the top. He’s moved around a number of times including to select Jaire Alexander, Jordan Love and Darnell Savage. Could he do so again in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Thanks to compensatory picks, Green Bay has some additional ammo to move up a few slots near the top–they picked up an extra fourth, fifth, and sixth this year. That could give Gutekunst the leverage needed to wheel and deal. With that in mind, let’s check out three potential deals the Packers could make that include both trading up and trading back.

The Green Bay Packers haven’t been afraid to move around their draft picks in recent years so here are three trades they could make in the 2021 NFL Draft.

1. Moving up in the first round

If the Packers do move up in the first round, it will be for the second consecutive year. This time it would likely be to target a cornerback such as Greg Newsome. In order to move up eight slots in the first, it would cost Green Bay something like both of their fourth-round picks. Since one of them is a compensatory selection, it would still leave Green Bay with two fifths and two sixths. That’s not a bad price to target a long-term solution at an important position such as corner.
