Given the Green Bay Packers‘ tough salary cap situation–they are one of only two NFL teams who have yet to sign an outside free agent–they are going to have to go treasure hunting and find some diamonds in the rough. Fortunately, there appears to be a number of candidates who can be had for cheap in free agency.

Keeping on the topic of free agency, this will be a year like none other. With the salary cap dropping, a lot of teams–including the Packers–were forced to cut money before free agency opened last Wednesday. That means a lot of veterans and other players will be cut from their teams and allowed to sign for a new one. And considering the lack of money, there will likely be a lot of one-year deals for cheap while players wait for the finances to come back around next offseason.

Those circumstances should allow Green Bay the opportunity to find secret weapons for cheap in free agency. And here are five guys who may be overlooked by other teams but could greatly help the Packers.

If the Green Bay Packers want to add some more spice to their offense they could look to these five secret weapons available in free agency.

5. Chris Conley, wide receiver

The Packers don’t necessarily need another middling wide receiver, but Chris Conley could be worth a flyer. He’s 6-foot-3–a size general manager Brian Gutekunst prefers in his receivers–and runs a 4.35-second 40-yard dash. That speed could help open the intermediate passing game for Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers even more and provide Green Bay with another player besides Marquez Valdes-Scantling who can beat his man deep. He could be had for extremely cheap and Green Bay should take a look to see if he can make the roster.
