Bargain running back to target in free agency: Jerick McKinnon

Packers’ fans might be somewhat familiar with Jerick McKinnon as he played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2014 to 2017 before moving on to the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately, he’s struggled big-time with injuries and has only played in 16 games over the last three years.

The good news is all 16 of those came last season and he could be ready to put the injuries behind him. McKinnon isn’t as good as a receiver as Johnson or Burkhead, but he’s no slouch. He’s a quick back who would provide defenses a different look when Dillon is out of the game. Given his injury history, he could likely be had for a veteran minimum contract later in free agency.
