Packers: 3 high-risk, high reward cornerbacks in 2021 free agency

The Green Bay Packers have a number of extremely difficult decisions to make in free agency this season. Not only do they have to decide whether to bring back some of their own talented players, but they must also examine the class of players that’s available to add to their team.

The cornerback class in free agency is fairly deep and it’s likely to get deeper as more veterans get released from their team in the next week or so. That means the Packers will have plenty of opportunities to add to their cornerback room, a position they clearly need to target at some point in the offseason. So without further ado, here are three high-risk, high reward cornerbacks they could target in free agency this offseason.

A.J. Bouye

Following three strong seasons from 2016 to 2018 where A.J. Bouye posted a PFF grade between 75 and 87, he’s taken a huge step backward in each of the last two seasons. He’ll turn 30 next season which means his past two seasons could be a better indicator of his play at this point in his career. However, there’s always a chance he could pull from his 2016 and 2017 form where he was extremely good in man coverage on the outside. It might be worth the risk to see if the Packers can help Bouye regain his top form.
