It’s unclear how the Green Bay Packers will approach 2021 free agency considering the depressed salary cap and the fact they are significantly over the cap as this article is written. General manager Brian Gutekunst certainly has his work cut out for him. However, if he decides to take a deep shot at wide receiver, there are a number of high-risk, high-reward players available in this year’s class.

Davante Adams is the only sure thing at the position heading into 2021 despite Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling taking positive steps forward last season. Still, Green Bay could use an upgrade and some more competition for Aaron Rodgers to throw to. Especially considering they are likely losing both Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams in the backfield.

The Green Bay Packers could swing for the fences by targeting these high-risk, high-reward wide receivers in 2021 free agency.

High-risk, high-reward wide receiver for Packers in free agency: Kendrick Bourne

Kendrick Bourne has experience running a bunch of underneath routes with the San Francisco 49ers, something the Packers also love to do. He’s also coming off the best season of his career in which he caught 49 receptions for 667 yards (both career-highs) and two touchdowns. His best football is very likely ahead of him and the Packers could be getting a player who is just coming into his own.
