Green Bay Packers Pick 61: Chatarius (Tutu) Atwell, WR, Louisville

Takeaway: This Green Bay Packers wide receiver room is filled with big-bodied receivers. Personally, I’d love to see them add a true slot receiver to this roster — although admittedly, that’s not necessary for success in LaFleur’s offense — whose skill-set will provide them with a nice change of pace. Enter Tutu Atwell.

Atwell has top-end speed and could be a real weapon in the LaFleur offense. He’s taken a majority of his college snaps from the slot but would also be effective as the motion man, on jet sweeps, and in the open field. Basically, get Atwell the ball in space and let him do the rest.

In 2019, Atwell tallied almost 1,300 receiving yards, catching over 67 percent of his passes at 18.1 yards per catch with 12 touchdowns. This past season that included only nine games, he caught 64.8 percent of his targets for 625 yards and seven touchdowns.

One thing that I do want to point out with Atwell is his size. As we all know, the Packers have thresholds that they like to stick to, and Atwell isn’t close to meeting them at 5’9″ – 165 pounds. We’ve seen Green Bay make exceptions, Randall Cobb is a prime example, but he was also listed at 5’11” – 186 pounds–two inches taller and over 20 pounds heavier than Atwell.
