Most disappointing Packer: Preston Smith

There’s a reoccurring theme with some of the players on this list that their poor play may have led to their final game with the Packers. Add Preston Smith to that pattern as well.

After having a monster first season with the Pack in 2019, Smith played, perhaps, the worst ball of his career. He had fewer hurries, quarterback knockdowns, sacks, pressures and tackles than a season ago. His struggles became a major talking point on social media as well.

Smith is still owed a lot of money and the Packers would have to eat $8 million if they release him this offseason. However, with the salary cap dropping and Rashan Gary emerging behind Smith, it might be worth it for both parties to move on.
